CTF Krikketto 76 Alpaca 24 Polyester Cone Yarn · 1/19Nm · Italy
Krikketto from CTF combines fine alpaca with a silver metallic strand, spun in Italy at 1/19Nm. At this count it is a true cobweb weight: very fine, light, and long-running, made for fine-gauge machine knitting or for holding alongside another yarn to add a soft halo and a thread of light.
Color 403 is a deep grey, with the metallic running through it as a quiet, intermittent glint rather than an all-over shine. The grey grounds the sparkle, so it reads as evening texture rather than decoration, and sits well with black, cream, and other muted tones.
As an industrial surplus yarn, this cone provides consistency in spinning quality while leaving room for creative development. Alpaca brings warmth, softness, and a gentle drape; the metallic adds a fine line of light that carries through whatever it is paired with.

Recommended Uses

• Lightweight scarves, wraps, and evening accessories
• Machine knitting, hand knitting with multiple strands, and weaving
• Accent stripes, edges, and details in larger pieces
Important Notes
• Alpaca has a light halo and may shed during knitting and in the first few washes
• Brief freezing of the cone or finished piece can reduce shedding; a lint roller is recommended for dark garments and surfaces
• The metallic strand can feel slightly textured against bare skin; swatch first for next-to-skin pieces
• Hand wash cool and dry flat; avoid high heat when pressing, as the metallic filament is heat sensitive
• Alpaca has little elasticity and can lengthen with wear; swatch, wash, and hang the swatch before measuring gauge
• Held 3 strands together it comes to approx. 633 m / 100g (lace); held 4 strands together, approx. 475 m / 100g (fingering)
• For best results, swatch before production to test tension and fabric density
• Cone yarn is different from skein yarn and must always be swatched before knitting to evaluate shrinkage and gauge
• Please note that colors may vary slightly from screen to actual yarn depending on display settings
• Some cones may be rewound onto empty cones without original mill labels
• May have mild outer dust or storage marks
• Sold as is, without retail packaging
• All yarns are 100% functional with no visible flaws or defects affecting usability
• Please note that cone yarn is wound in an industrial format
• In rare cases, internal breaks may not be visible from the outside of the cone
• Please allow approximately 5%–6% waste, which is standard for cone yarn handling
• In case of yarn breaks, pull away about 10 cm of yarn before rejoining and secure with a small cross-knot to reduce tension and avoid distortion in the knitted fabric

Note: All yarns sold here are authentic products made by the original mills, sourced as mill ends or unused surplus from knitwear factories.
