Zignago 60 Linen 40 Viscose Cone Yarn · 1/5.5Nm · Italy

This Italian linen and viscose blend from Zignago pairs the dry, structured character of flax with the soft luster and weight of viscose. Spun at 1/5.5Nm, it sits at a light fingering weight, fine enough for detailed weaves and close-knit fabrics, with a firm hand that holds its shape on the table, the cushion, and the wall.
Linen and viscose take dye differently, and the result is a surface with quiet movement: the flax carries a slightly irregular, matte depth while the viscose catches light along the strand. The effect is understated and suits interiors built around natural materials and calm, considered color.
As an industrial surplus yarn, this cone provides consistency in spinning quality while leaving room for creative development. Its firm, dry hand is better suited to home textiles than to next-to-skin wear, where it brings structure, drape, and a clean finish that lasts.

• Structure: Fine and structured, holds shape well

Recommended Uses

• Table linens: runners, placemats, and napkins
• Cushion covers and decorative throws
• Woven panels, wall hangings, and light curtain fabrics
• Machine knitting, hand knitting, and weaving
• Home accessories that call for structure and a subtle sheen

Important Notes

• This yarn has a firm, dry hand and is not recommended for next-to-skin garments
• For home textiles, we suggest leaving finished pieces unwashed to keep their crisp hand and structure; spot clean where needed
• Viscose loses strength when wet — if washing, handle gently and do not wring
• For best results, swatch before production to test tension and fabric density
• Cone yarn is different from skein yarn and must always be swatched before knitting to evaluate shrinkage and gauge
• Please note that colors may vary slightly from screen to actual yarn depending on display settings
• Some cones may be rewound onto empty cones without original mill labels
• May have mild outer dust or storage marks
• Sold as is, without retail packaging
• All yarns are 100% functional with no visible flaws or defects affecting usability
• Please note that cone yarn is wound in an industrial format
• In rare cases, internal breaks may not be visible from the outside of the cone
• Please allow approximately 5%–6% waste, which is standard for cone yarn handling
• In case of yarn breaks, pull away about 10 cm of yarn before rejoining and secure with a small cross-knot to reduce tension and avoid distortion in the knitted fabric

Some yarns don't come back.

Note: All yarns sold here are authentic products made by the original mills, sourced as mill ends or unused surplus from knitwear factories. We are not affiliated with or authorized by the original brands. Packaging and cone appearance may vary from official retail versions, but the product quality remains excellent. This listing is part of a sustainable effort to reuse premium industrial materials that would otherwise go to waste — perfect for makers who value both quality and conscious sourcing.
